How to play spider solitaire
Spider solitaire is played with two full decks or 104 cards. The objective of spider solitaire is to sort each of the decks into the above foundation which is outlined in a total of 8 spots. There is also a stockpile of cards to draw from and a tableau which can be used to sort the cards before they are put in the foundation.
While the traditional klondike solitaire has you arrange cards in the foundation by suit in ascending order starting with the ace of each suit, spider solitaire has you arrange these in descending order starting with the king.
The tableau in spider solitaire has ten columns with the first four columns having six cards and the last six columns have five cards.
what moves are you allowed to make in spider solitaire?
Cards can be moved to create a sequence of cards that contains the value of each card in ascending order from the card on top. You are also allowed to move these sequences between columns that match the suit and number order. For harder varients of spider solitaire additional suits are introduced which increases the complexity and strategy involved.
What is a good strategy for spider solitaire?
If you want to win more games of spider solitaire you should follow these tips. The first is to prioritize finding out what the face-down cards are. This will provide you with more information that will allow you to come up with a more complete spider solitaire strategy.
The next tip involves trying to clear out individual columns. If you are able to clear out the cards in a column on the tableau this will provide you with additional space to help free up other cards and create sequences. Once you have an empty column, you should prioritize high ranking cards to create a base on which other cards can stack on.
Are all spider solitaire games winnable?
Not all spider solitaire games are winnable. In fact the win rate on spider solitaire is quite low in comparison to solitaire variants such as freecell which have close to 100% winnable hands.
