How to play Freecell

Much like the classic solitaire game in freecell you are trying to move all of the cards from the tableua into the foundation piles which are organized by suit and rank in ascending order. One standard 52-card deck is used to play freecell solitaire.

The tableua for freecell contains eight columns in which all 52 cards start face up at the beginning of the game. This allows you to create a strategy for how to move the cards from the tableua into the foundation pile. Each column in the tableau has a space above it four of which are reserved for spade, diamond, heart and club foundation cards and four of which are “free cells” which can be used as a placedholder for cards as you move them around in the tableau to end up in the foundation.

You are able to move cards within the tableau and stack them if the card you are moving is one higher than the card it is being placed on in addition to having the opposite suit as a color. When moving cards in the tableau you are also able to move a stack of cards at once and the rules apply for the first card in the stack for it to be a valid move.
